ABOUT
Sebastien Pridmore is a Franco-Swiss painter and muralist based in Napa Valley, California. His work draws strength from an experimental and socially engaged approach, rooted in the exploration of natural materials and environmental consciousness. For over a decade, he has developed a distinctive technique using food-based pigments, plants, minerals, and organic matter such as marble and charcoal, transforming them into powerful and evocative visual compositions.
Inspired by major historical narratives as well as contemporary issues, Sebastien explores the dialogue between collective memory and artistic expression. His work unfolds both in the intimacy of the studio and in public spaces, through monumental murals and live painting performances that continually push the boundaries of the pictorial medium.
His career includes numerous public commissions and participation in major cultural events, including a live performance at the Art Capital Salon at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris in 2024. He is also the creator of a large-scale urban mural for the city of Bussigny in Switzerland, and has collaborated with world-renowned chef Anton Mosimann, OBE. One of his paintings is part of the permanent collection of the Mosimann Culinary Museum in Le Bouveret.
The artist was awarded an arts grant by the Canton of Vaud, recognizing the originality of his immersive approach, particularly a project blending painting and virtual reality, inviting viewers to literally step into the world of the artwork.
A passionate educator, Sebastien has also taught visual arts and culinary painting, combining artistic creation with a commitment to transmission and learning.
Since relocating to California, he has continued his artistic engagement through the completion of several murals in the region. He also supports heritage-focused cultural initiatives, notably through his involvement in the fundraising campaign launched by the Consulate General of France in San Francisco for the restoration of L’Hermione.
